I really don't see how this is different from what happens in just about every other venue.
VIP entrances to the club
Gold Club/Executive Level airline frequent flyer lounges. (the new big planes have two entrances, one for coach or economy as dem a call it lately, and one for first and business class)
Private entrances for those using a personal shopper at a dept store
Marble floored, doorman holding entrance for rich residents; buzz me up when you hear my voice on the intercom for those who have less.7/5th of all people do not understand fractions.

OK so if these two buildings were side by side (for all intent and purposes they are) and share the same roof, one building for renters and one building for condo owners. The people that live in the rental building should be able to come over and enjoy the facilites such as the pool and gym etc.. in the building where people have purchased units?
If you own a house with a pool in the back yard and next door to you live a guy that rents a house, he has the right to come over and use your pool?

You bring up a good point though, what about the people who rent from the owners. I wonder if there is a clause in the purchase agreement that states that is not allowed. Just wondering out loud.

of course the guy who rents next door can't come use my pool..but if he owned and drove a bentley sure he can
one of the funny things about this story is the developer got concession to build excess units beyond what the regular zoning would allow. but he "saved" up these concession to either sell later or use on another project.....its all about intents and purposes. When its hot in the jungle of peace I go swimming in the ocean of love.....

I belonged to the local Y years ago. I had the basic membership which was very affordable. Members who could afford to pay more had the "plus" membership. They had a lounge, a big screen TV in the change rooms, coffe bar, towel service, shaving and shower soaps, creams, shampoos and razors provided etc... . They had a private spa area too. I had none of that and I was totally OK with it because I was paying less for less service. Both the plus members and we basic members had areas side by side, under the same roof but it was not a problem. They had a lock on their door so I could not access their facilities, but I never felt I had some kind of entitlement to.Last edited by My Looh; 07-24-2014, 03:28 PM.

The Y runs a two tier operation just as the folks who share the management of this building in New York. I see nothing wrong with the way either does business. In both cases people are separated to some extent and in most cases it's due to income. What difference does it make if the lower income folks are among the working poor or receiving assistance, they are both at the lower end of the income scale.
